Interlaken to hold Nissan Outdoor Games
Nissan Outdoor Games by Columbia are to take place in Switzerland this year. Interlaken is frequently visited by adventure-seeking backpackers throughout the year. Companies provide guided services in Skydiving, Canyoning, Hanggliding, Paragliding, and Skiing and now they will be hosting Extreme Sports Olympics for the third consecutive year.
Duration: 30th June - 1st July 2007
Location: Interlaken, Bern, Switzerland
The competitive sports include:
KAYAK: BoaterCross (saturday 30th June 2007), Extreme Slalom and Team Race (Sunday 1st July)
MOUNTAIN BIKE: North Shore contest (saturday 30th June 2007)
CLIMBING: 2 boulder competitions: Swiss Championships and IFSC Rock Master (saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2007
The competitions venues are easily reachable from Interlaken by public transportation. The easiest way is to park in Interlaken and catch a shuttle
The games also include a short film competition. These 5 minute films will show the death defying skills of their high performance exploits. These video clips are a reality expression of their respective high-pressure sports. Organisers are again expecting a mass turnout from the public for a full-on great outdoors extravaganza.
